Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 launched in India

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has been launched in India, featuring an improved processor, longer battery life and better cameras.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, the company’s first phone for India in 2017, has been launched in India today. (19-01-2017)

The phone is starting at Rs 9,999 for the base model of 2GB RAM and 32GB storage.

There’s also a 3GB RAM version with 32GB storage at Rs 10,999.

The most expensive is the 4GB RAM+64GB storage version at Rs 12,999.

The phone will be available on Flipkart and Mi.com from January 23 at 12 pm. There’s is no pre-registration needed for this phone, and it looks like Xiaomi is not going for a flash sale this time. Xiaomi is also introducing a matte black colour version of the phone this time, along with the grey and gold colour options.

Xiaomi, which has seen sales dip in its home market, is eyeing India as the next big space for its growth. The company claims it crossed $1 billion in revenue in India for the year 2016. For Xiaomi, its budget phones have done well in India; the Redmi series which includes Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3S, Redmi 3S Prime has managed to generate a lot of interest, especially for online buyers.

A large battery life has emerged as the USP of the Xiaomi Redmi Note series, and the same continues with the new Redmi Note 4. The newer phone was launched in China last year, and comes with a 4,100 mAh battery; its predecessor had a 4050 mAh battery. Redmi Note 4 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, which uses the new 14nm FinFET technology. According to Xiaomi, the processor is more power efficient and ensure a better battery performance, compared to the earlier phone which had a more 28nm Snapdragon 650 processor. The GPU is Adreno 506 with this smartphone.

Xiaomi says the new Redmi Note 4 performs 25 per cent better on the battery front compared to the earlier phone. In terms of specifications, the Redmi Note 4 has a 5.5-inch full HD display (1920×1080 pixels) with 2.5D arc glass design, a 13MP primary camera, and 5MP front camera. The rear camera uses a Sony CMOS sensor with 1.12 micron pixel size for better low-light performance. It also supports PDAF, and has an LED flash and f/2.0 aperture

This is the first Xiaomi phone which has a full 2.5D curved glass on the front. There’s also a fingerprint scanner at the back, and the phone runs with Android Marshmallow and MIUI 8.0.

Xiaomi says it is testing Android Nougat 7.0 with the device as well, and the beta version of this will be ready to download for those who are interested, once the phone goes on sale.

This will be a dual-SIM smartphone with 4G VoLTE smartphone. It has a hybrid dual-SIM slot with microSD included in it. The Redmi Note 4 has dual speakers at the bottom, instead of speakers at the back like the older phone.

Yes, its a downgrade. But with a reason.
Apparently, the gaming performance has gone down due to the inferior Adreno version, but at the same time the power requirements too have come down and this Snapdragon SoC(I am not able to recollect the exact number...620 i think) generates less heat...

In summary...slower clock speed, less heat..more battery life..

jawed

Service after sale is very important. Xiaomi is not upto that . I read user review . Product is best but service after sale is not good.
